During Spring Semester 2009, Wayne Chang led a group of EWB Members to construct a simple wind turbine prototype. The purpose of the project was to give members an understanding of renewable energy generation and get some of the newer members into the engineering shop to work hands on with a project. The project was funded by the Cougar Parent Fund and the Environmental Task Force. The prototype was completed May 2009 and currently serves as a concept piece at student involvement fairs.
